Termites are social insects, work and live together in a group and each colony consists of several types (castes). The caste is divided based on body shape and behavior and each running different tasks. The caste is divided into:


  1. Workers
  2. Soldier – distinguished from a sturdy claws and head of the Pigmented
  3. Reproduction


Behavior:

The worker caste dominates the population of the colony, they aren't winged, barren and blind. Their main task is to make the nest, keep the eggs and young, and the termites in search of food. They also feed the other castes but are not able to feed themselves.

The warrior caste is also not winged, barren and blind. There are two types namely Mandibulate have prominent jaw and Nasute have muzzle. Its main function is to form defense and lower jaw can be changed so that they can not eat alone.

Reproductive caste have eyes, winged and reproductive system. In the country's tropical, when crowding (leave the colony) usually begins after the rain at all. After swarming (sometimes called a nuptial or mating flight), they are looking for the perfect place to form new colonies. The King may change the shape of the belly while the Queen will be very large filled with eggs.

Habitat:

Mature colonies may be counted more than 4 million individuals. For some species, the Queen can lay over 2000 eggs per day. Termite colony can last for 50 years.

Risks:

The invisible destroyer, they can cause serious damage to the building and significant structures at the plant. The ability to hide myself giving time to do damage before they are found.
